The Medical Examiners Service at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a Bank Medical Examiners Officer to support to the full -time staff working in the service.
Medical Examiners Officers support Medical Examiners in their role of scrutinising the circumstances and causes of death of deceased patients. Part of the Medical Examiners Officers role is to be a point of contact and source of advice for relatives of deceased patients, healthcare professionals and coroner and registration services.
You must hold the Royal College of Pathologists certificate for Medical Examiners Officers and be willing to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Work with Medical Examiners (ME) to aid them in their responsibility for overseeing the death certification process for all deceased patients in the organisation.
The postholder will ensure adherence to and upholding of Trust values during the delivery of the role.
Act as an intermediary between the bereaved families and clinicians to establish and resolve any concerns relating to a patient’s death.
