4064 - Physiologist Modality Lead Team Manager
An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Physiologist Modality Team Leader for respiratory and exercise testing to join our cardio-respiratory team at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The Cardiology Department provides a range of services including cardiac ultrasound (TTE, contrast, stress and TOE), CIED implantation and follow-up, angiography, electrocardiography including ambulatory and exercise testing, spirometry, full lung function testing and CPEX services.
We are a forward-thinking department that strives for excellence in all that we do. We provide a lot of training opportunities for staff and regularly host 6 university PTP students annually.
The department is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, suitably qualified physiologist to join our cardiac ultrasound team.
Main duties of the job
Cardio-respiratory physiology is one of the most dynamic sectors in diagnostic therapy. The advances in treatment, tests, and diagnosis have been emerging for some years and will continue to develop into the future at a considerable pace. The Cardio-respiratory Physiologist Modality Team Leader will be responsible for a section of the department. The post holder will be actively involved at hospital and regional level for supporting the development of the service and leading research into the development and implementing improvements to practice and educating staff.
Although the successful candidate will be the Modality Lead for Respiratory and exercise testing, they will need to have BSE or HRUK accreditation and be trained as a cardio-respiratory physiologist. A large part of their work will be providing a service within echocardiography or pacing.
(CLINICAL BUSINESS UNIT). You will be expected to work your contracted hours within the core working day/week as determined by the CBU.
To develop specialised areas of interest within cardio-respiratory physiology.
To contribute regularly to the service improvement and business planning processes as well as reporting to the CBU on a monthly basis with regard to service performance, service needs, and operational challenges.
In parallel with other Modality Leads, be responsible for the efficient deployment of resources, enabling the patient to receive a safe, accurate, and timely examination.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or equivalent.
* Post graduate qualification or equivalent training and demonstrable experience, and expertise in modality.
* High level of clinical competency in multiple modalities in cardio-respiratory physiology.
* BSE or BHRS accreditation.
* Participation in CPD, both as reviewer and interviewee.
* Professional registration.
Skills and Abilities
* Proven Leadership skills.
* Ability to promote team working.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Able to engage with other clinical areas e.g.: ED, Radiology, Orthopaedics, AMU.
* Good organisational/leadership skills.
* Ability to use IT systems such as PAS, CVIS, and Change Healthcare Cardiology.
* Able to use computer software such as Word and Excel.
Experience
* Experience of student training.
* Extensive clinical experience, in general cardiology and respiratory physiological measurement, including experience of working at Band 7 level within the NHS.
* Line management experience and training.
* Previous experience of implementation and management of Health & Safety requirements.
* Experience of clinical audit and statistical analysis.
Knowledge and Awareness
