About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our wastewater team as our Process Operator Team Lead, guiding your team’s contribution to the effective operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment assets for our customers and the environment.
This role will see you join a fast-paced team in the Northumberland area, coordinating and developing your team to maximise our asset performance. You will achieve this by following NWL policies, procedures, and guidelines without compromising safety.
As Team Lead you will demonstrate our company values providing leadership, and a consistent approach to training within team. This includes supporting colleague development.
The successful candidate will ensure operational practices are followed. This means you will provide regular team updates to ensure legislative and quality standards are achieved. This will make certain our full compliance against our discharge consents.
In addition, you will have budget responsibility to identify areas of improvement and efficiencies.
About you
The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with the team and key stakeholders within the business. This includes utilizing technical knowledge of the day-to-day operation of effluent treatment processes and communicating updates.
You will have proven experience of working in the water industry or process related industry and be able to plan your workload effectively. This includes assessing priorities and delegating specific tasks to your team in challenging circumstances.
Ideally you will have proven leadership experience, using your clear communication skills to empower your team regularly.
We’re committed to ensuring “Everyone Home Safe Everyday” therefore awareness of health and safety is important for this role. As Team Lead you will champion a culture of health and safety through company devices and PPE.
You are also required to hold a full UK driving licence.
Please note – This role has been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you will be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test. This will be prior to or within four weeks of their start date.
