Construction and Plant Training Services Ltd (CPTS) is a leading provider of accredited construction and plant operator training courses across the UK. We specialize in CPCS, NPORS, NVQs, Health & Safety, and CSCS certification training. Our goal is to equip professionals with the skills and qualifications needed to work safely and efficiently in the construction industry.
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to focus solely on acquiring new clients and building long-term relationships. This role also includes supporting the centre's operations when needed, especially in the absence of the Centre Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Client Acquisition & Business Growth
* Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities for CPTS.
* Conduct cold calling, email outreach, and networking to generate leads and build relationships with potential clients.
* Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to attract new clients, focusing on construction companies, contractors, and recruitment agencies.
* Promote CPTS training courses and tailor solutions to meet the needs of businesses.
* Achieve and exceed new business revenue targets.
Relationship Management
* Maintain continuous engagement with new clients to ensure long-term business partnerships.
* Understand client needs and provide tailored training solutions.
* Follow up on leads and referrals to expand the client base.
Operational Support
* Act as a point of contact for operational support when required.
* Assist in the daily running of the training centre if the Centre Manager is absent or requires support.
* Ensure smooth coordination of training schedules and client bookings when needed.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the construction training or education sector.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence key decision-makers.
* A results-driven mindset with the ability to generate leads and close deals.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the internal team.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with construction companies, training providers, or accreditation bodies.
* A background in training, health and safety, or construction industry sales.
* Strong understanding of CPCS, NPORS, NVQs, and other industry-related training programs.
