LHH recruitment solutions are partnering with a growing SME business based in Northwest London to recruit for a Finance Manager. This role will initially start as a 2-3 days per week position; however, due to the growth within the business, it has the potential to progress to a full-time permanent role.
Job title: Finance Manager
Rate: £250 per day umbrella rate
Location: Wembley, Northwest London
Hybrid: 2 days in the office (this role will initially be 2-3 days a week)
Key responsibilities:
1. Review and prepare management accounts for a portfolio of UK companies.
2. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records to ensure they are up-to-date and correctly maintained.
3. Ensure the accuracy of entries into the ledger accounts and subsidiary accounts to the general ledger.
4. Analyse current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to predict future revenues and expenses.
5. Ensure all accounting processes are followed and improved.
6. Follow up and correct any issues identified during month-end procedures.
7. General ledger management.
8. Take full responsibility for critical month-end activities, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
9. Prepare monthly management accounts, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports & analysis.
10. Ensure efficient cash flow management by preparing and executing weekly payment runs and forecasting immediate financial requirements.
11. Support the preparation of month-end KPIs and dashboards: Assist in the development and analysis of key performance indicators and financial dashboards to provide insights into business performance.
12. Promote best practices and drive initiatives to standardise processes, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
13. Experience with AP/AR and posting journals, including Inventory Management experience.
14. Lead project work, such as financial investigations and occasional client secondments.
15. Business Partner with heads of different entities.
16. Prepare budgets and regular forecasts.
17. Monitor cash flow. Prepare weekly cash flow & forecasts.
18. Develop and mentor junior staff within the department.
What he will need to succeed:
1. Qualified/Part-qualified and working towards an accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
2. Proven financial/management accounting experience, preferably beyond audit environments.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in partnering with stakeholders.
4. Excellent IT skills, with experience in accounting software like Xero.
5. Ability to work with non-finance peers.
6. Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
