Job Description:
A fantastic new job opportunity has become available for a dedicated Scrub Nurse to work in a brand new eye healthcare service opening soon based in the Swindon, Wiltshire area. You will be working for one of the UK's leading healthcare providers.
Opening in September, this cutting-edge eye hospital will feature the latest advancements in modern medical technology.
Must be qualified as an RGN Nurse with an active NMC Pin – Will also accept ODP’s with HCPC registrations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide competent scrub provision, supporting the surgeon through the daily theatre list, anticipating potential problems and resolving these.
2. Help clean down the theatre, ensuring the highest standards are met in terms of patient safety, clinical compliance, and hygiene levels.
3. Undertake medicine management and audit duties as well as maintaining accurate patient records.
4. Manage clinical waste and ensure correct disposal procedures are implemented.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
1. Previous hospital eye service or private eye clinic experience.
2. Knowledge of clinical practice and awareness of current developments in Optometry.
3. Capable of working in a fast-paced, high-volume theatre setting.
4. Experience of supporting the surgeon during theatre – problem solving and issue resolution.
5. Training and coaching of others.
6. Commitment to continuous professional development.
7. Competent user of computer systems and programmes.
8. Excellent grasp of the English language both verbally and in written format.
9. A good team player – happy to jump in and support others when required.
Salary and Benefits:
The successful Scrub Nurse will receive an excellent salary up to £41,312 per annum DOE. This exciting position is a permanent full-time role for 37.5 hours a week on Day Shifts from 7.30am-5.30pm. In return for your hard work and commitment, you will receive the following generous benefits:
