For those with SEN and SEMH needs, attending school can feel impossible. Overwhelming classrooms, lack of understanding and pressure on resources often leaves them without vital support and many end up as unwilling or unable to attend.
They are desperately in need of your experience, expertise and understanding, which is why you should consider working with Fresh Start in Education. Working on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, you will be planning and delivering or supporting bespoke learning programmes designed around your student’s needs and interests. Your skills and commitment will help ready our students to reintegrate back into education.
The placements
* Working with your student on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis either in their home or a suitable venue
* Delivering 2-5 sessions per week centred around the needs, specific requirements and interests of your student
* Each session will last between 3-5 hours and will take place between 9am – 4pm, Monday to Friday. Days and times are arranged with you before placements start.
* Bank Staff worker – providing short-term provisions as and when they arise, paid via PAYE
What you need to apply
* Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience working with vulnerable children or young people with additional needs (SEN, SEMH needs and other barriers to learning)
* Experience delivering or supporting Maths and English at Primary or Secondary levels
* Availability to commit to a minimum of 2 consistent days per week
* A commitment to keeping children and young people safe and a practical and up to date knowledge of safeguarding
