CDL CLASS A DRIVER GENERAL SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Deliver and pick up loads to and from customers and vendors. Maintain truck and trailer in good condition. Requires 3 – 4 years of driving experience, excellent work history, excellent safety and driving records, ability to pass a DOT physical, and drug screen. Must have a CDL Class A License with Air Brake Endorsement. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Deliver and pickup loads from customers and vendors. Carry out preventative maintenance and minor repairs on trucks, while reporting more serious maintenance necessary to the Scheduler and/or the Distribution Manager. Verify load content and quantity. Follow all DOT rules and regulations and OSHA safety procedures. Required to monitor operating efficiency to maintain the vehicle. Demonstrate ability to understand daily targets and must meet or exceed these targets. Ensure that vehicle is has even weight distribution for safe transport. Drivers should have positive and friendly attitudes to provide outstanding service and build strong customer relationships. Must have computer skills to process all associated paperwork including trip log, maintenance log, and customer orders. Maintain a clean and organized work area/truck. Other duties and responsibilities as required. QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS CDL Class A with a safe driving record, knowledge or DOT regulations, safety awareness, excellent communication skills, meet or exceed DOT physical requirement, be able to lift. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, sit for 10-12 hours, push/pull/lift min. 35 pounds, and demonstrate reliability, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
