Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Senior Commissioning Engineer to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA). The 330km Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Project by Anglian Water is under construction and will be completed during AMP8. Beyond this we have a further 260km of water transfer pipelines and associated infrastructure to be delivered in AMP8. What will you be doing as our new Senior Commissioning Engineer? You will be responsible for safely and efficiently leading commissioning, in-line with your area of expertise, of complex, novel and high-value water and water recycling projects. You will define and document best practice within your area of expertise, develop new talent, lead site commissioning activities, enable and promote technical excellence and knowledge-sharing in the Commissioning Team and wider business. You will liaise with Portfolio Commissioning Managers to help prioritise resources on site to deliver commissioning across all delivery portfolios. Key responsibilities: Lead and direct on-site activity of multiple Commissioning Engineers, primarily on large, complex, high value projects. Fault finding and optimisation of automated control systems, water and wastewater processes. Ensure knowledge, experience and best practice is shared with the team by working alongside Commissioning Engineers on site. Work with Solutions Managers on the development of complex and novel solutions to ensure commissioning is considered from the outset of solution development. Liaise with M&E and process engineers during the design stage to give input to the proposed solution to meet the scheme deliverables & provide a solution that can be efficiently and safely commissioned with no customer impact. Produce Commissioning Plans, define commissioning durations for each project and liaise with Planners to integrate commissioning with construction activities. Ensure the Commissioning Plan is consistent with the scope of work, setting out scheme deliverables and identifying how hand-over testing will be carried out. Produce Impact Plans to mitigate commissioning risks to ensure zero impact on customer supplies and quality of product. Produce commissioning Risk Assessments & Method Statements. A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours: This job might be for you if you have: Proven water commissioning or process optimisation experience. Site experience of water operations. Familiarity with MCCs, PLCs, instrumentation, and process control systems. Experience of supervising contractors or engineers on site. Educated to degree level in Electrical, Mechanical, Water / Wastewater Process Science / Engineering related subject. Membership of, or working towards membership of, relevant professional body (MIET, IMechE, CIWEM, IChemE).
