As a Catering Assistant, you’ll support the café and the team to achieve its full potential, ensuring the café can deliver consistency as well as helping put together creative food ideas for audiences and events. The Sobell Leisure Centre's delicious menu includes locally produced seasonal food that is rooted in healthy eating values, offering plant-based, vegetarian, gluten, and dairy-free options.
What you’ll do:
* Be a friendly and welcoming face to visitors and customers at the facility.
* Undertake the preparation, serving, and delivery of fresh food and drinks.
* Participate in the production and service standards of the café, ensuring high standards of health safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.
* Ensure food safety laws are followed and maintained.
* Comply with GLL and Hub policies.
* Actively contribute to the development of café service.
* Assist in setting up rooms for functions and events.
* Undertake cash handling and card payments.
* Attend meetings/training and be part of the facility team.
What you need:
* Work as part of the team to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
* Provide excellent customer care and have good multi-tasking skills.
* Prior experience in the food industry (desirable).
* Up-to-date level 2 food hygiene & safety (desirable).
* Follow all Normal & Emergency Operating Procedures as well as adhering to relevant product manuals.
* Fully participate in and engage in the training through centre-based training and ongoing assessment on performance.
