Nuclear Medicine Clinical Service Lead

Job overview
This is a rare opportunity to lead a highly specialised Nuclear Medicine service.
We are looking for a suitably experienced State registered professional to act as the Service Lead for Nuclear Medicine. You will possess a BSc in Radiography (or equivalent qualification) with a Post Graduate qualification in Nuclear Medicine. In addition to this, you will also have extensive experience with Nuclear Medicine, preferably with experience of CT. A management qualification or management experience is needed to support the role.
Main duties of the job
The Service Lead is responsible for managing all aspects of the specific assigned service within Radiology including the supporting team of staff:
* Provide effective leadership, support and direction to the team, acting as Lead Clinical and Operational Practitioner, a role model and patient advocate.
* Responsible for the planning and allocation of the workload for the hours of work associated with this service and monitoring the budget for this area.
* Management, supervision and development of the team of staff, including highly skilled and specialised Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and Imaging Department assistants.
* Monitor and maintain standards of professional practice and deploy staff assuring standards are met.
* Manage improvements and change, brought about by commitment to and compliance with clinical governance and government NHS plans.
* Support the aims and vision of the Trust and take personal responsibility for the quality of the service provided.
Person specification
Qualifications
* BSc Degree in Radiography or equivalent qualification (e.g. DCR)
* HCPC registered
* Leadership or Management Experience
Knowledge
* Extensive post qualification experience in Nuclear Medicine radiography and preferably CT
* Evidence of clinical competence in area of specialty supported by CPD.
* Knowledge of IR(ME)R and IRR.
* Knowledge of Clinical Governance and the relevance to practice.
* Experience of managing a clinical area.
* Experience of budgetary management.
