Position: Health Care Assistant
Salary: £12.50/ hour
Shift Pattern: Fulltime Days Plus Weekends
Location: Bexhill-on-Sea TN39
Job Purpose
To assist in the provision of care and support to residents in a compassionate and respectful manner, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met while promoting their independence and dignity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Personal Care:
o Assist residents with daily personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
o Support residents with mobility issues, ensuring safe movement and transfers using appropriate equipment and techniques.
o Assist with feeding residents who require help and monitor their nutritional intake.
2. Health Monitoring:
o Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or mental condition to senior staff.
o Assist with medication administration as per care plans and training.
3. Emotional and Social Support:
o Engage with residents in meaningful activities and conversations to promote their well-being.
o Provide companionship and emotional support, addressing any concerns or fears they may have.
4. Environment Maintenance:
o Ensure residents’ living areas are clean, tidy, and safe.
o Assist with laundry duties and making beds.
o Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the appropriate personnel.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided and residents’ conditions.
o Communicate effectively with team members, ensuring continuity of care.
6. Compliance and Training:
o Adhere to all health and safety regulations and infection control policies.
o Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
o Comply with all policies and procedures of the care home.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential:
o Compassionate and caring nature with a desire to help others.
o Good communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
o Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
* Desirable:
o Previous experience in a care setting or similar role.
o NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
o Basic knowledge of health and safety and infection control.

Pay: £12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
