Long-Term Teachers are recruiting a dedicated and learning support assistant to work with post-16 students who have educational health and care plans (EHCPs). About the role: As a learning support assistant, you’ll work closely with students in diverse community settings, including learning hubs, libraries, workplaces and leisure facilities. Your key responsibilities will include: Supporting students to develop practical life skills tailored to their individual needs Delivering accredited learning based on a personalised curriculum Assessing student progress and celebrating their achievements Travelling alongside students to various community-based locations, ensuring their learning takes place in meaningful, real-world environments The ideal candidate: To succeed in this role, you’ll need: A passion for working with young people and supporting their development Previous experience working with young people in the UK is essential Experience working with special educational needs would be advantageous Flexibility to travel between community locations Strong communication and organisational skills Confident in working with and taking students off-site to a range of settings Able to drive and have access to your own car (you will need to get business insurance for this role) You will be working Monday to Friday, 9am - 4:30pm, term time only.
