Type: Full Time / 18.5 Hours Per Week / Permanent
Here at Leicester, we support many routes into social work and you can play a key role in developing this. With a wide range of training for social workers and alternatively qualified staff at every stage of their career, we prioritise giving the time and encouragement to maximise what teams can learn. This approach helps our workforce to advance in their careers and grow within the organization.
We are committed to stability while continuously seeking new ways to innovate and improve. Listening to our staff and implementing their ideas is essential to our success. We want our staff to benefit from all that we offer, maintaining their confidence in the practice they deliver and the outcomes they achieve. This commitment leads to longer tenures among our employees, as they recognize the value of our work.
As a Senior Practice Educator, you will play a pivotal role in developing our workforce and the next generation of Social Workers in both children's and adults' services. You will provide learning and development opportunities, putting your social care experience into practice by sharing your knowledge and placing adults, children, and young people at the heart of your work.

In this dual role, you will manage social work students, support qualified social workers in becoming practice educators, and aid the learning and development of the wider workforce. One of the most rewarding aspects of this role is witnessing the development and growth of those you mentor.
Your Role:
1. Focus on three main areas: Student support, practice assessment, and workforce development.
2. Coordinate the provision of practice learning opportunities and undertake the supervision and assessment of students using an on-site model of practice teaching.
3. Work with the wider workforce to identify areas for continued professional development.
4. Build relationships with internal colleagues and partner with universities and learning partners to deliver the best package to our staff, including Signs of Safety (SOS) trainers.
What You'll Need:
1. Qualified social worker with a Practice Education qualification.
2. Strong skills in developing people, supervision, organization, liaison, and negotiation.
3. Able to work to deadlines and use analytical skills to identify target areas.
4. Good understanding of theories of adult learning in the context of social work practice.
