About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated Communication Officer to join our local council team on a temporary basis. This role is instrumental in supporting the redevelopment of a local shopping centre. The successful candidate will possess strong stakeholder management skills and will liaise with the local community, tenants, and developers to ensure all parties are kept well-informed throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement communication strategies to engage with various stakeholders.
2. Manage social media platforms, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information.
3. Craft and distribute press releases, and handle enquiries from the local news media.
4. Organise and participate in stakeholder meetings and community events.
5. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1. Proven experience of managing social media accounts and content creation.
2. Skilled at dealing with the press and executing effective press releases.
3. Adept at engaging with stakeholders and maintaining strong relationships.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Previous experience within a council environment is highly desirable.
