An exciting opportunity has become available for a well organised and self-motivated person to join undertake the role of administration Team Leader for a small team of staff alongside the role of Failsafe Officer for the NHSCSP.
The role requires someone who is able to pay attention to detail and will be confident enough to raise concerns as necessary.
Team leader
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the cytology administration team, incorporating efficient planning and daily organisation of the team
Failsafe officer
- Responsible for the administration of the laboratory failsafe system as required by the Cervical Screening Programme national guidelines.
To support the Sample Taker Database administrator as required and in periods of their absence.
Main duties of the job
You will need to have excellent demonstrable communication & relationship skills, be an enthusiastic & motivated leader & team player, with problem solving skills.
The main duties include;
Team Leader
Plan and implement a work schedule, to ensure an efficient and timely output.
Have delegated responsibility from the cytology laboratory manager for basic HR tasks such as appraisals, return to work interviews and Health and Well-being meetings.
To assist in the delivery of training and competency assessment of the admin team.
To lead regular admin team meetings and actively participate in other departmental meetings as required.
Failsafe
Manage the receipt of Colposcopy discharge sheets from all units and enter the relevant information onto the LIMS, including histology outcomes.
Update and amend patient records, removing them from failsafe once Colposcopy attendance is confirmed.
Generate failsafe lists identifying patients with no record of Colposcopy attendance.
Make enquiries with clinics and primary care to establish current status of patients on this list and obtain information from Colposcopy databases.
Produce failsafe letters for patients still with no known attendance / outcome.
Collate replies received to failsafe letters and enter details onto the failsafe record, removing patients where Colposcopy attendance has been confirmed and closing failsafe as appropriate.
