Mechanical Engineer - EPC (Energy Sector): Newcastle Upon Tyne

I'm delighted to be supporting a growing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company with the appointment of a Mechanical Engineer. This company has recently secured major long-term projects in the onshore energy sector and we're currently seeking an enthusiastic mechanical engineer to provide technical expertise, liaise with clients and support with design verifications and validations on these projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out design verification and validation for large-scale energy projects, specifically gas compressor stations, jet engines, exhausts, pressure vessels, and piping systems.
2. Develop, review and verify designs using software such as Navisworks, AVEVA 3D, Smart Plant/E3D.
3. Identify and check compliance issues to UK Standards and industry regulations.
4. Produce reports for project and client updates.
5. Work within a multi-disciplinary team providing expert advice to project managers.
Requirements:
1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or other relevant discipline).
2. Extensive experience working within the onshore energy industry, gained through petrochemical, waste to energy or renewable projects.
3. Background in onshore EPC, FEED studies, EfW (Energy from Waste) plants, rotating equipment and gas compressors.
4. Knowledge of PED, CE Marking, pressure vessels, and piping systems.
5. Experience with design review software packages including Navisworks, AVEVA 3D, Smart Plant/E3D.
