Job Title: Senior Materials Engineer Location: RAF Coningsby - on site Salary: £37548 depending upon skills & experience What you'll be doing: Working within a team of NDT engineers inspecting advanced aircraft and components Compile required reporting, identify any issues and escalate as appropriate Ensure all technical airworthiness activities undertaken are appropriately documented and records are maintained on relevant systems (IT/ paper based) Comply with and participating in the application of human factors, error management, risk management and safety assurance within the Materials Engineering and customer environment Improving methods and processes to meet customer and business requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery Deliver on F35, Typhoon, Legacy aircraft and Future aircraft NDT production activities on carbon composite and metallic structures, working with the Materials Engineering NDI Lead Engineer and SMEs to ensure the delivery to contract Essentials: Qualification & experience in 2x Non-destructive Testing methods (Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Testing, Eddy current Testing & Ultrasonic Testing) for aerospace application (EN4179) Desirable: Awareness of the military In-service environment Knowledge of aspects of airframe design and manufacturing engineering Working to defined standards and processes.
