Junior Jewellery Product Developer
Key responsibilities of the role:
* Maintain and update NPD trackers with detailed product information, dates and sample costs
* Manage NPD from initial design TD to production
* Maintain supplier communications and alert suppliers with NPD quality call outs, cancellations or requests
* Work closely with the PD Manger to establish and maintain new and existing relationships with suppliers
* Have clear verbal, written & visual presentations; driving simplicity over complexity and identifying and preventing risk in NPD
* Assist the PD manager in creating proactive quality parameters
* Have the ability to read specs and TD’s to liaise on their development with suppliers
* Review collections with PD & Buying Manager to create target costs and RRP’s based on AL cost history and competitor analysis
* Efficiently negotiate cost prices and MOQ’s to achieve margin targets set by the Buying Manager
* Use the weekly Critical Path meeting to help raise and unblock issues and flag any delays that could affect the teams internally.
* Identify areas where extra team collaboration is necessary to support the NPD and CP
* Review competitor brands to stay on top of trends or gaps in NPD. Keep an eye on personalization bringing new ideas to Abbott with intent to grow the brands USP.
* Liaise with e-comm to ensure they have all details noted in RP so that product naming and descriptions are accurate
* Escalate large issues effectively to PD managers. Propose solutions and craft POA’s
* Assist in updating product information documents focussing on technical details
* Work closely with design to Identify gaps in NPD where sourcing is necessary and complimentary
* Source products to suppliers clearly using verbal and visual examples
* Ensure sourcing is delegated to suppliers based on their capacity and strengths
* Work closely with the PD Manager to review and select sourced products
* Work closely to the critical path in order to manage the product journey from initial concept stage, to sampling and final product sign off
* Ensure every SKU has a final gold sample ordered and sealed with standardised tolerances.
* Maintain the gold standard library inclusive of final TD’s and test reports
* Ensure quality feedback from gold standard products are relayed back to factories in a timely and clear manner
* Align internally throughout the Quality Control process to ensure standards are adhered to and flag any design aspect that causes quality concern
* Complete and send out quality submission forms
* Maintain a library of all quality reports outlining POA’s where needed
* Assist in reviewing and resolving quality data
* Highlight any relevant quality issues that may effect teams internally and assist in relaying these issues to factory
* Look at sourcing alongside quality to ensure all product resourced is compliant
* Anticipate testing through NPD process to identify products that will require specific tests in line with CP
* Assist in tracking quality data being both proactive and reactive
* Working closely with the PD Manager and design to set and stay within target option count
* Relaying to the wider teams lessons learnt after each drop to highlight areas of improvement and stability for future NPD
* Assist PD manager in tracking and relaying feedback on factory performance
* Assist the PD manager in maintaining quality budget
* Assist on developing areas of new packaging ensuring they are suitable and compliant
* Liaise closely with our print design team throughout the packaging development process
* Collaborate with PD manager on overall quality & sourcing strategy

Location
Our head office is in Bath but we operate a flexible hybrid model. Around 40% of the team are based near Bath, with others distributed across the UK. You should expect to be in Bath a minimum of twice a fortnight.
