Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer
Location: Grangemouth & Edinburgh (with occasional travel)

Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are partnering with a leading innovator in the biotech and process industry to recruit an Electrical, Instrument & Controls (EC&I) Engineer. This role is instrumental in the design, development, and commissioning of next-generation process plants, with a focus on automation, instrumentation, and electrical design.
The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
* Produce C&I designs for Feasibility Studies & FEED stages
* Develop instrumentation indexes, wiring drawings, loop diagrams, and load schedules
* Select and specify process control hardware (pressure, temperature, level instruments, control valves)
* Evaluate contractor work to ensure compliance with industry standards & regulatory requirements
* Lead and support HAZOP & LOPA workshops
* Assist in project procurement, including tendering, negotiations, and supplier management
* Provide electrical design support for plant upgrades and modifications
What We’re Looking For:
* 5-10 years’ experience in C&I engineering within EPC or process industries
* Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar electrical design software
* Knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR standards & process safety
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work autonomously and collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team
* Full UK driving licence & right to work in the UK
Bonus Skills (Advantageous):
* Electrical Panel Design
* Experience with PLC/DCS configuration
* CompEx certification
