The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay are inviting applications for the post of Clinical Fellow in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery to work alongside our existing Dental Core Trainee and Joint Dental Foundation Core Trainees. This is a fixed term, full time post until 2nd September 2025 The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Unit at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust offers a wide range of experience in OMFS, including dentoalveolar surgery, oral medicine, orthognathic surgery, trauma surgery and the management of non-melanotic skin cancer. This role would suit an individual interested in Dental Core Training and an interest in pursuing specialty training. The post is full time and supports a 1:5 non-resident evening and weekend 1st on call rota with support from a consultant/specialist 2nd tier. The successful applicant will join the OMFS team which consists of 4 consultants (OMFS and Oral Surgery), 1 Specialist in Oral Surgery, 3 Specialty Doctors, 1 Specialty Trainee in Oral Surgery, 1 DCT and 2 Foundation/DCT Trainees. The department works alongside our Orthodontic and Restorative Dentistry services to provide high quality care for the patients of Morecambe Bay. We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
