We are seeking a Garden Maintenance Crew Leader to join our team! This role involves leading a small crew to provide garden maintenance and enhancement services. Who are we?
St. Jacobs Landscaping is a family owned landscape design, build and maintenance firm that operates primarily in Waterloo Region. Our maintenance and construction divisions mostly work on residential landscapes. Our projects range anywhere from small garden enhancements to large scale landscape and hardscape installations. We are a tight knit group of professionals with a great team dynamic. We love what we do!
What You’ll Do
1. Work independently and/or lead a crew in performing garden maintenance tasks such as pruning, weeding, edging, and mulching. Training and support will be provided.
2. Provide clear, hands-on direction to the crew and ensure high standards of work are met.
3. Organize and prioritize daily tasks to meet project deadlines and client expectations.
4. Maintain proper care and maintenance of equipment and tools.
5. Maintain effective communication between clients and office staff to address concerns and ensure satisfaction.
6. Track and report project progress and any issues to the management team.
What We’re Looking For
1. Proven experience in landscaping. At least 2 years of crew leadership experience is preferred but not required.
2. Knowledge of landscaping maintenance practices and techniques.
3. Experience in leading or assisting with garden installation projects.
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to stay organized under pressure.
6. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Ability to operate a pickup truck/van with a small dump trailer.
7. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
