P6 Planner Opportunity (MoD & NUCLEAR) Location: Aldermaston, Hampshire Contract Type: Outside IR35, 12-month contract (initially) Rate: Paying £450-475 per day (8-hour day) Start Date: Immediate Flexible Working: Potential to work from home one day per week, agreed locally. My client is seeking an experienced P6 Project Planner to provide essential planning support for both pre-contract and contract operations for my construction client. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled planner with proven expertise in Oracle Primavera P6 and NEC contracts. (Working for/on construction and/or engineering projects/clients) Ideally, you will have experience working on Nuclear MoD construction projects. (preferred) Key Responsibilities: Work closely with the Senior Planner and project teams to ensure timely, on-budget delivery of projects. Provide planning management support across all project phases, from pre-contract through to completion. Develop, manage, and update detailed project programmes in accordance with NEC contract requirements, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Manage and integrate change events into project schedules, ensuring full contractual entitlements with the support of the commercial team. Monitor and control project performance against the agreed programme baseline, producing accurate forecasts and reporting. Generate critical path analyses, short-term lookaheads, and sub-contractor schedules to keep the project on track. Assist in identifying risks and opportunities, and develop recovery plans when needed. Collaborate with sub-contractors and stakeholders to ensure accurate programme data and maintain strong relationships. Requirements: Qualification in Project Controls, Project Management, or a related field. Degree/HNC in Engineering or Construction. Minimum of 5 years' project planning experience in construction projects. Strong knowledge of planning techniques, including critical path analysis and resource-loaded programme creation. Expertise with Oracle Primavera P6. Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and programme reporting. Thorough understanding of NEC contracts, including compensation event management. Familiarity with CEMAR for NEC contract management. Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Security Clearance & Safety Critical Medical: Due to the nature of the work, candidates must meet specific nationality requirements, and this vacancy is open only to British Nationals. Candidates will also need to undergo security clearance vetting, and if not already cleared, must be willing to start while the security clearance process is ongoing (minimum SC level required).
