Job Advert: Family Support Worker (Part-Time) Location: Nelson (BB9) Start date: 24th February 2025, with a view to transition onto a permanent contract. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our team in Nelson. This part-time role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children, young people, and their families. You will play a crucial role in supporting parents and carers to create a better environment and lifestyle for their children. Responsibilities: Manage an individual caseload of children and young people within their families, providing direct support. Conduct early help assessments to identify family needs and co-produce SMART action plans with families. Implement action plans in collaboration with key partner agencies, using a Team Around the Family approach. Work with both universal and intensive support levels, with a focus on more complex cases. Manage cases referred through the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). Provide support for cases that have been de-escalated or stepped down from specialist or statutory services. Support cases identified within school settings through the Team Around the School arrangements. Work with families with complex needs as identified by other agencies, ensuring timely interventions. The ideal candidate will have experience in family support work or a related field, with the ability to assess needs and develop action plans. You will need strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with both families and multi-agency teams.
