DriveAbility Scotland is currently seeking to strengthen its Trustee Board and in particular to find trustees with skills and expertise in financial monitoring and control and in fundraising. The key roles we are seeking to fill are set out below:
Treasurer
A treasurer will monitor the financial matters of the charity and report to the board of trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation, in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements.
In particular the treasurer will:
1. Oversee and present budgets, accounts, and financial statements to the board of trustees.
2. Ensure that proper accounts and records are kept, ensuring financial resources are spent and invested in line with good governance, legal and regulatory requirements.
3. Be instrumental in the development and implementation of financial, reserves, and investment policies.
The package of funding the charity has received from the Motability Foundation is for a three-year period only, and the continued operation and development of our work will be wholly dependent on securing long-term funding beyond that period.
A key role for the fundraiser will be to support the CEO and Chair in discussions with the Scottish Government as well as seeking alternative sources of income both for general and specific purposes.
