Role Summary: To carry out maintenance, repairs, and void refurbishments across Portsmouth City Council properties, including social housing, schools, offices, and heritage buildings. The role requires high-quality workmanship, compliance with safety regulations, and excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities: Perform painting and decorating repairs, including preparation, emulsion, gloss painting, wallpaper hanging, and artex repairs. Diagnose and complete repairs efficiently, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental compliance. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including company vehicles and tools. Communicate effectively with tenants, supervisors, and the Operations Centre to ensure smooth job completion. Follow company processes, risk assessments, and health & safety protocols. Skills & Knowledge: NVQ Level 2 in Painting & Decorating or equivalent experience. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and complete repairs efficiently. Good communication and customer service skills, especially in sensitive tenant situations. Knowledge of building materials, repair methods, and industry regulations. Experience in social housing or building maintenance (2-5 years preferred).
