Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager Location: Office-based near Chesterfield - with site travel Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 Company Car Job Type: Full-time The Opportunity: I'm working with a growing M&E contractor with a £30m annual turnover, delivering projects across the student accommodation and residential sectors, with values typically ranging from £8m to £15m. They're now looking for an experienced M&E Project Manager to join the team and take full ownership of mechanical and electrical packages from pre-construction through to handover. This is a permanent, full-time role offering stability, progression, and the chance to manage high-value projects with real autonomy. Key Responsibilities: Oversee full M&E project lifecycle from design coordination to completion. Ensure works are delivered on time, within budget, and to required standards. Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams effectively. Coordinate with main contractors, clients, consultants, and internal departments. Review drawings and specifications to identify scope and project risks. Monitor site progress, quality, and health & safety compliance. Attend progress meetings and produce project reports. Manage procurement schedules and monitor material deliveries. Resolve technical issues and drive value engineering opportunities. Ensure accurate financial tracking in collaboration with commercial teams. Requirements: Proven experience delivering M&E projects within the construction or building services sector. Strong technical understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems. Track record of managing multi-million-pound M&E packages (£5m ideally). Excellent leadership, organisation, and communication skills. Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Comfortable working under pressure and juggling multiple tasks. SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid preferred. Full UK driving licence (site travel required).
