About the role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team in Gillingham as a Support Worker. As a Support Worker, you'll play a crucial role in guiding individuals toward recovery, offering tailored support, and coordinating services for their well-being. If you're passionate about making a difference in people's lives, join us in this impactful position.
As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
1. Managing a low-risk caseload, devising, implementing, and reviewing ongoing recovery and treatment plans.
2. Facilitating educational and peer support groups.
3. Reducing substance-related harm to individuals and the wider community.
4. Supporting on duty and taking new referrals.
5. Working collaboratively with key partners and colleagues to achieve the best health and well-being outcomes for individuals.
About you
Whether you come from a strong background in the substance misuse sector, have experience in mental health support, have a history in the criminal justice field, or possess a relevant academic background, we welcome you to join our diverse team. We believe that various experiences contribute to our comprehensive support and care mission. Specifically, we are seeking individuals with one or more of the following professional experiences:
1. Substance misuse background
2. Mental health background
3. Criminal justice background
4. A relevant academic background such as Criminology, Psychology, Law or Sociology
5. A strong portfolio of volunteering in a similar role
6. Case management experience and the ability to manage expectations in this emotionally demanding role are highly valued for their contributions to our mission of consistent, high-quality care
