Interaction Technical have partnered with a global industrial and energy company on their search for an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer on a temporary basis for their site based in Hirwaun, South Wales until September 2024. The Role:
1. Hands-on commissioning of mechanical/process components and systems such as fuel supply system, firefighting and fire protection systems, cooling, water systems and HVAC.
2. Carrying out and managing piping networks cleaning using various methods such as pigging, air blowing, flushing, etc.
3. Carrying out testing on mechanical systems and equipment, as well as system optimization and troubleshooting and filling-in the respective commissioning documentation and protocols.
4. Cooperation with internal team members, guidance and coordination of external partners and sub-contractors, interacting with customers.
5. Ensure all the activities conducted on site follow the correct process in accordance with project requirements and in strict compliance with all EHS requirements.
6. Understands and executes the equipment clearance (LOTO) procedure, as well as Job Safety Analysis / Work Authorisation / Confined Space / Hot Work Permits.
7. Coordination of all necessary activities with all involved parties, such as commissioning team, erection team and sub-contractors.
8. Participation in the walk-downs for Turnover from construction to commissioning, identifying open items that prevent system start-up.
9. Visual inspection of equipment/systems for correct and complete erection, adequate cleanliness, and safe access in consideration of related engineering documents, such as P&IDs, wiring diagrams, system descriptions, etc.
10. Preparation and update of the commissioning procedures to be conducted on site.
11. Provide theoretical and practical training to customer personnel.
12. Report to the Lead Process / Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, Commissioning Manager, and the Head of Commissioning where necessary.
The Requirements:
1. Minimum 5 years experience within power station mechanical commissioning activities (essential).
2. HND / HNC in Mechanical engineering (essential).
3. Knowledge of mechanical regulations and construction industry standards (essential).
4. Previous experience surrounding mechanical engineering with the construction industry (advantageous).
5. Full UK Driving License.
