Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5pm
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic Newport team. The role of the Assistant Project Manager is to support the Project Manger by supporting field & back-office resource to ensure targets (Operational & Commercial) are achieved throughout the lifecycle of the project. This role will enable the Project Manager to focus on Stakeholder Relationship, Commercials & overall performance of the project while at the same time providing a road map for the Assistant Manager to gain the knowledge & experience required to become a competent project manager for future projects.
Responsibilities
* To support the project manager through management of the back office and field force
* Assist with training, coordination of tasks to ensure they have sufficient work in line with targets.
* Ensuring that the work force is fully accredited in all Openreach, council and MJQ requirements, working in line with MJQ accredited training school
* Chairing and attending meetings with internal and external stakeholders
* Verification of all direct labour timesheets
* Verification of all Sub-contractor invoices
* Ensuring all DFEs are captured and applied for
* Ensuring that all customer targets are met
* Making sure that we maintain a strong fluidity of work
* Compiling accurate reports of all work aspects
* Being pro-active to adapt any current processes and improving efficiencies of current way of working
* Ensuring that all systems are kept up to date with accurate information (Depotnet/CRM)
* Making sure that all costs attributed against the project are accurate and captured fully
* Maintaining a strong WIP position for the project
* Building a strong working relationship with the project team
* Building a strong relationship with the customer
* Ensuring that all company policies are adhered too
* Helping to develop the team to help progression within the business and to make sure that everyone is performing to the best of their abilities
* Giving constant feedback of progress and issues to the Project Manager
* Making sure the project is delivered in the most cost-effective way
* Interviewing any potential candidates to join the team
Essential
* Telecoms background
* Have strong planning, organisation, and monitoring abilities.
* Enjoy a challenge, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
* Have a high standard of numeracy.
* Be educated to a G.C.S.E level B+ in Mathematics & English (or equivalent).
* Be computer literate.
* Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Have a strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
* Have the ability to prioritise work, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage business expectations.
* Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
* A legal right to work in the UK.
