About the Role
We are recruiting for a compassionate and approachable Family Worker to join our excellent team in our Lancashire Young Persons service, and to provide information and advice to families in relation to substance misuse and its impact on the family. Job Opportunity
As a Family Worker, you will offer interventions to support parents with substance misuse issues, whilst working to raise awareness of and improve access to appropriate services, with a focus on using Motivational Interviewing techniques. You will provide ongoing support through 1:1 or group sessions. It will be vital for you to develop strong and positive relationships with clients and their families, whilst managing an active caseload and ensuring continuity of care.
Essential Skills
To be able to do this job successfully, you will have:
* OCN/NVQ level 3 or equivalent or willing to achieve this within 12 months
* experience of working with families and young people around their substance use
* experience of structuring and delivering group work and/or presenting in a group setting
* experience of completing assessments, risk assessments or care plans with adults and young people
* evidence of continuous professional development
* excellent relationship building skills with a range of people from a wide variety of backgrounds
* the ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team, sharing your skills knowledge and experience
* good organisational skills to be able to manage your time effectively, prioritising your work and being able to cope with the pressure of competing demands
* excellent written and oral communication skills, including engaging delivery of presentations
* the ability to record and maintain accurate case details and in a timely manner
* effective IT skills, able to use different packages and digital media
* access to a vehicle and a full UK driving licence
Ideally you will have experience of working in a health and social care, substance misuse or family setting. We are looking for positive and motivated candidates who are able to communicate with a wide range of people and in different settings.
