Vacancy: Maintenance Technical Author Location: Brimsdown 2yr Fixed Term Contract Job Family: General Engineering As the Technical Author you will lead the production, preparation and management of technical information and documentation for the Maintenance Department. This will include but is not limited to Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Works and documents such as equipment user manuals, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting guides. Your responsibilities: Produce and prepare technical information and documentation including, but not limited to, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Works, risk assessments, equipment user manuals, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting guides, help files and more to support the Engineering and Maintenance team. Work with the maintenance teams to observe and survey tasks in order to create written instruction and information in the form of SOPs and other relevant maintenance documentation. Work with Production operations, Process Safety, Technical and EHS teams to review and deliver up-to-date documentation for R&CE operations including authoring, publishing and communicating technical information. Owning the development, formatting, quality, peer review, testing, uploading to the chosen platform and maintaining the document through its lifecycle. Turning complex engineering jargon into simple understandable information and concise steps. Keep up to date with latest industry best practices for authoring, publishing and communicating technical information for all appropriate audiences. Requirements for the role: HNC / HND in Engineering discipline Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance experience gained in manufacturing/industrial environments or heavy machinery maintenance.
