We are seeking to appoint a Reflection Room Coordinator to join our strong Pastoral Team. The position involves the administration process and managing pupils who have been booked into the room during the school day for disruptive behaviour and to assist staff in ensuring high standards of conduct are maintained. Furthermore you will be responsible for a caseload of pupils, re-engaging them in their education and ensuring support is given to modify their behaviour and support their progress towards achieving their full potential. We are committed to early identification and intervention to ensure pupils do not fall into a cyclical habit of disengagement. Being able to build and maintain mutually respectful relationships with staff and pupils alike is essential. The successful candidate will be relentless and uncompromising in securing excellent outcomes for all pupils. Applicants should be confident, articulate and with a strong personality to enable them to deal with pupils in a variety of situations, sometimes challenging. Key Duties will include: Identify students who are currently not supporting the Culture for Learning we are striving to achieve Track attendance and progress of students accessing the Reflection Room Contribute to Pupil Passports to support ‘Every Child being Known’ Use a ‘Relational’ approach when working to provide high support/high challenge to students in the Reflection Room Maintain high expectations of conduct and use our behaviour policy where students are not meeting these expectations Promote our vision for Culture for Learning Work with targeted students to improve engagement with learning Use restorative approaches where there has been conflict between members of the school community Use a PACE approach to help diffuse situations and build positive relationships Recommend strategies to other staff working with the students Build a bank of resources to support the adjustments required to address the barriers to positive engagement Benefits: Working in a dedicated, highly motivated team of colleagues.
