Hiring Manager - Helen Bland Closing Date - 26th February 2025 The Opportunity The Financial Accountant position is a collaborative role, focussing on the provision of an exemplary financial accounting service. You will ensure that financial systems, regulations, procedures and controls are in place to safeguard the company’s assets. With the company’s growth at the front of your mind, you will focus on continuous improvement in systems and processes to enable the department to absorb both growth and diversity in our operations. The role will involve: Working closely with the Head of Financial Control to review our internal control framework and implement any necessary changes. Preparing papers/schedules for the year end audit and assist the Head of financial Control with the preparation of group and subsidiary statutory accounts. Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger including the review of postings and monthly review/sign off on balance sheet reconciliations. Review VAT workings on various group companies and ensure compliance with current legislation. Assisting with year-end tax computations for various group companies Co-ordinating and undertake month end tasks within the financial control team working with the Assistant Accountants Manage a small team and be responsible for their professional development. Compiling and analysing departmental KPIs to help drive continuous improvement. About You You will be an experienced Financial Accountant, ideally having been trained in an accountancy practice with more than 5 years post qualification experience. You will be methodical and well organised with excellent attention to detail, be a self-starter able to manage your own workload and capable of meeting department deadlines. You will also have/be: CCAB qualified (ACCA/ACA) Advanced Excel skills including ability to extract and manipulate data and create/use complex formulae. Experience working to IFRS including but not limited to IFRS 15 The ability to work in a flexible environment where new systems and procedures are developed and implemented. The ability to positively influence others with a commitment to continuous improvement of systems and processes Team focused as well as being able to work on own initiative
