The Product Manager will be responsible for the development of all ranges here at BGA with a key focus on delivering results.
The Product Manager will report to the Product Development Manager and will work alongside a team of Product Assistants as well as members of other departments including sales and technical.
The overall goal of the role is to contribute to producing a range of products that hit the right place in the market to generate customer interest, increasing sales through our sales channels and sales team. You will need to have automotive experience with a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities will include:
* Recommend and develop product ranges within the overall company strategy
* Work closely with other departments covering pricing, technical (quality), marketing, supply chain and sales.
* Assist with stock management working with Supply Chain
* Help to maintain and develop our market leading cataloguing on TecDoc and MAM
* Managing the entire product life cycle from cradle to the grave and all steps in between
* Competitor analysis and then changes to our offer as a result
* Assist Sales team with product queries – this will include cross referencing, pricing, bill of contents enquiries, sourcing and catalogue requests
Experience:
* Automotive experience, ideally 2 years +
* An understanding of OE/Aftermarket cataloguing systems
* Product development/management advantageous
* Can demonstrate handling and analysing data to prioritise own and team’s workload
Key skills required:
* Customer first approach – you will need to provide evidence of combining product experience and knowledge with market insight
* Excellent IT skills especially Microsoft Office and in particular Excel (formulas, pivot tables)
* Problem solving – the ability to foresee pain points and roadblocks and creating a plan to overcome these in a timely and cost-effective way
* Analytical approach to problem solving
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
