Life at Next is fast-paced, varied and challenging and takes a large, talented and efficient operation to keep our 500 retail stores stocked, deliver our worldwide online offer and strengthen the growing partnerships with over 1,000 brands and the third party customers using the Next’s Total Platform Let’s take it on As a Transport Team Manager at Next, you will work closely with the Transport Manager in the fast-paced and time critical transport operation to ensure the traffic operation runs smoothly, accurately and cost effectively on your shift. It’s your job to ensure that the team on shift are well organised, trained and motivated to deliver the operational efficiency targets and that all operational processes are fully H&S compliant. You will produce daily and weekly plans to achieve these targets, and monitor performance against standards, taking appropriate action to maintain or improve as required. Team Managers will ensure that all Drivers hours and tachograph infringements are controlled and managed and that all statutory road transport legislation, O-licence requirements and Company policies and procedures are adhered to. Team Managers will monitor and investigate accidents and incidents, identifying Root Cause and implementing recommendations. You will be used to using your strong communication skills to work with different characters and understand what motivates individuals to be the best that they can be. By creating a fun, fair and rewarding culture, as a Team manager in the transport team you will train, coach and mentor your team to drive them to perform to the highest standards. About you The Transport department at Next is a fast paced 24 hour operation and so there will often be a need for you to act independently and to think on your feet. You will demonstrate the ability to manage changing priorities, working well under pressure and able to make sound, operational decisions. Your expertise is valued and as a Transport Team Manager, you will need to search out solutions, drawing upon your previous transport management experience to lead the team. You will be a resilient Transport leader who is resourceful and comfortable with fast paced problem solving. You will be computer literate with a strong understanding of G Suite.
