Applications are invited for a Consultant Cardiologist post in East Sussex Hospitals Trust.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our team and work to deliver consultant led, efficient, safe, and patient centred best practice care. The successful applicant would be joining a busy, forward-thinking cardiology department which is continuously looking to innovate and improve services.
The appointee should hold a CCST and be accredited in Cardiology. They will form part of the cardiology CCU rota and this is a cross site post.
The post will be developed to support the community cardiology referral service with 4 clinics a week and to support the general cardiology inpatient service.
A CCU round 1:6 weeks will be expected.

Applicants should be a holder of Certificate of Completion of Training or be within six months of the award of CCT by the date of the interview or the equivalent (CESR) which is at the time of applying, on the GMC Specialist Register.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* MB BS or equivalent
* Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians
* Full Registration with GMC
* MD or equivalent
Training/Experience
* Wide experience in all aspects of Cardiology, with a specialist interest culminating in the award of a CCT.
* Experience in other relevant medical specialities.
Management
* Evidence of participation in management.
* Understanding of recent initiatives and changes, including Clinical Governance and Appraisal.
* Management course and/or qualifications.
* Knowledge of the structure of Health Service.
Audit/Research & Publications
* Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit.
* Understanding of the role of research.
* Completion and/or Publication of audit projects.
* Experience of clinical research culminating in presentation and publication of original studies, review articles, etc., relevant to specialty.
* Ability to lead clinical research projects.
