The role:
Promoting the College’s Environment & Sustainability agenda including developing the awareness of college staff, students and contractors regarding college environment/ sustainability requirements, and promoting college targets and initiatives.
In line with circular economy principles, develop processes aimed at minimising waste, promoting recycling / reuse of waste, energy efficiency / carbon reduction, reducing unnecessary water consumption and promoting Biodiversity.
Full time (37 hours per week)
Fixed term for approx. 14 months
£35,390 - £37,748 per annum
Primary base in Tycoch Campus. However, you will be expected to travel across other College sites when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and track sustainability indicators, such as energy usage, natural resource usage, waste generation, and recycling.
Work alongside and advise Campus Sustainability Groups/ and interested parties including Learners and college staff in promoting sustainability matters.
Daily management of environment program for the College ensuring compliance with Environment legislation and Level 5 Green Dragon standard. Including Monitoring and reporting on environment performance in relation to waste, energy, water consumption and non-compliance matters.
Participate in and contribute to the Environment audit program that assesses compliance with environment legislation.
Provide an annual report regarding the Colleges Sustainability and Environment progress and performance defining opportunities for improvement, in line with the Green Dragon award scheme.
About you:
Level 5 qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
Knowledge and understanding of the principles of Sustainability
Excellent verbal communication and presentational skills
Passionate about the environment
