International Trade Manager (e-commerce)
Working within Asendia’s Network Development Team this person will be a subject matter expert for the operational application of duties and compliance requirements for cross border ecommerce trade. You will work closely with our Duty & Customs compliance manager, primarily ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and laws.
The role does offer wider opportunities to develop innovative cross border solutions for the international consumer ecommerce market, you will need to enjoy customer contact, managing vendor relations, training and detailed investigative processes
We are seeking a positive self-starter who can provide both consultative and collaborative support to other departments in a fast paced and diverse working environment.
Your Tasks
* To investigate irregularities identified by the customs and duty compliance manager
* To understand Asendia’s systematic architecture and processes for the management of data required to facilitate international trade
* To be Asendia’s recognised product owner and subject matter expert for the evolving duties and custom solutions
* To support the development of Asendia’s transhipment MOU
* To manage duties and tax claims on behalf of Asendia
* To support clients as appropriate in the management of duties and tax claims
* Support SOP drafting for processes relating to International Trade
* Review and make recommendations on solutions to pending regulatory changes considering commercial, systematic and operational factors
* To identify and commercial and efficiency opportunities, relaying them to the business
* Keep accurate records and provide reports as required by the business
* To be review and respond to the Sales team on customer queries relating to customs and duties and the first line responder. Escalation to the Duties & Customs Compliance Manager or Head of Network Partners as needed.
* To develop skills and understanding to provide reciprocal cover to the peers within your team during planned and unplanned absence
* To seek continuous learning and professional development in order for you to remain a subject matter expert for international trade
* To be proactive and liaise with all other departments, offering training and supporting internal and external meetings as required.
1. Experience & Demonstrable Skills
* At least 5 years’ experience customs and duty expertise
* Strong systems, data analytics and administration expertise
* Good commercial acumen
* Good relationship management skills
* Experience of Ecommerce distribution & commercial clearance would be advantageous
* Experience of postal distribution would also be advantageous
