Elsectrical Shift Engineer
Location: Farringdon
Salary: £43,000 - £45,000 + Shift Allowance + Overtime
Shifts: Continental, Days & Nights
A respected Facilities Management provider is looking to appoint a reliable and skilled Electrical Shift Engineer to support critical operations within a critical healthcare environment. This role is vital to maintaining a safe, compliant, and fully functional facility where uptime and responsiveness are crucial.
Working on a days & nights shift pattern, the engineer will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and ensure the continuous operation of electrical systems in a live clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
Perform PPM and reactive tasks on a wide range of electrical systems including lighting, distribution boards, emergency power systems, and fire alarms.
Respond to urgent maintenance issues promptly to minimise disruption to clinical services.
Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs on LV systems and equipment.
Support life safety systems testing (e.g., emergency lighting, fire alarms).
Liaise with estates and clinical staff to plan works safely and with minimal impact.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and update shift handover logs.
Ensure strict compliance with hospital safety procedures and statutory regulations.Candidate Requirements
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential).
2391 or 2394/2395 Testing & Inspection (preferred).
Experience in a hospital or critical environment (highly desirable).
Strong understanding of health & safety in a live healthcare setting.
Ability to work independently and as part of a shift team.
