Job summary Step into a new opportunity as a Specialist Practitioner / Trainee Specialist Practitioner within the Isle of Man Ambulance Service, where you can be part of our Healthcare Transformation Project. The See & Treat project aims to enhance the patient experience, providing expert treatment in their own home and reducing unnecessary Emergency Department attendances. This role is tailor-made for an ambitious Practitioner who has completed a relevant postgraduate education program or for a Paramedic/ Ambulance Nurse eager to further their career and undertake training to become a Specialist Practitioner. Within this role you will experience substantial investment in your professional development, culminating in the completion of a Postgraduate Diploma. Main duties of the job You will be equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to independently assess, diagnose, and treat a diverse range of urgent care presentations, thereby significantly reducing the reliance on hospital attendances and improving the patient experience. As a Specialist Practitioner within the ambulance service, you will also receive additional training to expertly manage critically unwell patients in the pre-hospital setting, with access to an extended range of medication and advanced clinical procedures. If you are successfully shortlisted, there will be an assessment centre held on the Isle of Man on Thursday 12th June 2025. Due to the nature of the assessments, we are unable to offer remote assessments. In person attendance is mandatory.
