GVR Solutions are representing a client based in North West London who are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience as a Quantity Surveyor. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be provided with training and development and should ideally be looking to make the leap into a Quantity Surveying position in the future.
The client undertakes projects within the refurbishment and fit-out sector. The purpose of the role is to assist in the financial management of individual contracts of various values, including ensuring allocated contracts are delivered on time, within budget, safely, and to the client's requirements and in line with company procedures and objectives, all with assistance where necessary.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the control of all financial aspects of projects to ensure the smooth running of the Quantity Surveying Department in order to deliver company objectives including, but not limited to:
2. Prepare timely valuations in accordance with the contract documents.
3. Detail variations and advise the client accordingly.
4. Procure projects via various sub-contractors.
5. Liaise with the appropriate Contracts Manager and place appropriate orders with sub-contractors with full contract details and relevant clauses.
6. Value sub-contractor accounts.
7. Prepare and submit contractual notices to sub-contractors.
8. Set out extension of time claims including cost recovery.
9. Maintain a timely CVR system for the company.
10. Raise sub-contractor orders and payment certificates on the computerized system.
11. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
12. Perform all other ad-hoc duties for the benefit of the company in line with the position held.
