AAG Defence Services is a MAA Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) based in RAF Brize Norton, UK. We work in partnership with Airbus Aerospace & Defence to supply dedicated MRO services, including heavy and line maintenance, to the Royal Air Force’s fleet of A400M Atlas aircraft. Our committed and flexible team of over 100 engineers and management are based at RAF Brize Norton in a dedicated 24,000m², three-bay facility designed to optimise the maintenance of the aircraft. AAG Defence Services is a subsidiary company of Atlantic Aviation Group.
Job Purpose
Responsible for assisting with the coordination of aircraft maintenance and customer coordination, whilst also maintaining a high level of technical support to the shop floor and our customers regarding aircraft technical queries. This ensures that the performance of maintenance on the A400M fleet is carried out in a safe and efficient environment, providing a service to our customers that meets and exceeds the deliverables for the project.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical support and interface with Airbus Military UK, third-party suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring robust communication links for technical issues.
* Oversee technical requirements at the pre-input and production control processes, ensuring efficiency and robustness.
* Monitor and report on activities as requested by management.
* Foster positive, collaborative, and effective relationships with all internal departments and support the development of good customer and service provider relationships.
* Implement best practices, ideas, and techniques to account for the complexity of the project, developing robust communication processes and continually improving outputs.
* Ensure compliance with general and technical company procedures.
* Support internal and external audits, providing solutions to issues and findings as they occur.
* Manage Technical Queries, including Tech assist function within AMOS and TQN register updates, ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
* Conduct technical reviews and quality checks of Damage reporting data.
* Request and review content of technical data.
* Manage third-party suppliers for repair processes.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
* Create part numbers in the AMOS Database.
Health and Safety
* Understand individual operational safety and security responsibilities.
* Be aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work, including management responsibilities as required by the H&S Manual.
* Be aware of aviation safety responsibilities regarding the AAGDS Safety Policy, including management responsibilities as required by the Safety Management Manual.
* Be aware of aviation security responsibilities regarding the AAGDS Security Policy.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Ability to work effectively in a team.
* Ability to work unsupervised when required.
* Good awareness of aviation safety.
* Good communication skills.
* Must have served a recognised technical apprenticeship or training.
* Aircraft maintenance experience.
* At least 3 years working in a technical department where a level of technical support was performed.
* Demonstrated understanding of the maintenance production process.
* Exposure and experience with AMOS or other integrated aircraft maintenance systems is advantageous.
* Must have a UK driver's licence and be capable of holding and maintaining Airbus Military UK SC and Disclosure Scotland CRC certification.
* Experience of maintenance data.
* Knowledge of aircraft legislation and regulations.
* Knowledge of technical documentation and drawings.
* Experience with Stores and logistics processes is advantageous.
