I am excited to be working exclusively with this growing business to recruit a Financial Controller. This strategic yet hands-on role places you at the helm of the company’s financial management, reporting directly to the Managing Director. You'll oversee the finance team, manage the company’s financial operations, and play a crucial role in shaping the department’s processes, driving efficiency, and supporting the business's ambitious growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
* Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations, including VAT, payroll, and cash flow management.
* Lead the production of monthly management accounts and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
* Manage year-end statutory processes and liaise with external auditors.
Reporting and Planning:
* Prepare and analyse monthly and annual reports to monitor trends, financial health, and forecasts.
* Spearhead budgeting and forecasting processes across multiple timeframes.
* Collaborate with various departments to refine financial strategies and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Leadership and Development:
* Manage and mentor a skilled finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
* Propose and implement systems and processes to streamline operations and improve financial controls.
Compliance and Risk Management:
* Ensure compliance with government regulations, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
* Collaborate with auditing services and external advisors to maintain high standards of compliance.
Strategic Contributions:
* Translate business strategy into actionable financial plans with measurable KPIs.
* Support decision-making by providing financial insights and creative alternatives to reduce costs and enhance performance.
Key Skills
* Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and experience in a financial leadership role.
* Experience in Sage Intacct or similar.
* Experience implementing new systems and processes to a scaling business.
* Flexible approach and can adapt to changing landscape.
* Strong commercial acumen, hands-on approach, and the ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution.

The role is office-based with travel between offices based in Norfolk and Suffolk and some hybrid working.
The role will offer a base salary of up to £60k + car + 25 days holiday + 5% pension + healthcare.
