Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to join the North Wales Adolescent Service (NWAS), which is comprised of Kestrel Ward, the Intensive Community Support (Kite) Team, the Specialist Eating Disorders (SpeED) Team, and Education. As Ward Manager, you will have a crucial leadership role in the delivery of high-quality service provision, that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families, and carers. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Main duties of the job This position requires an individual who is able to lead, motivate, and manage staff, working within a Tier 4 CAMHS service. Applicants must be experienced, passionate nurses, who have a positive attitude towards mental health and promoting recovery. The successful applicant will act as a positive role model in coaching staff members, and providing clear direction and support. Experience of working in CAMHS or young people's services is desirable. You will be required to work with a range of professionals, that form the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). You must have robust communication skills, and the confidence to actively participate in open discussion regarding the young people, who are supported within the service. Working as part of an integrated Team, the successful applicant will work in collaboration with the Kite Team. Clinical leadership within the role requires the successful candidate to lead on, and support, the Team to deliver and maintain the highest possible standards of care, ensuring that the views of Young People, their families /carers are placed at the centre of care delivery. The successful applicant will provide regular line management /clinical supervision to members of the Team, and will support the Clinical Service Manager, to deliver high quality operational management and leadership within the service.
