Job summary The Memory Assessment Service sees adults living in Birmingham or Solihull with memory and cognitive difficulties in the context of a suspected dementia. The Service is an assessment and diagnosis only service and you will be involved in carrying out comprehensive assessments with Service Users and their families. You will also work closely with the Clinical Psychologists and support the programme of audit and service development. Main duties of the job You will be required to carry out pre-assessment counselling and clinical history taking, including cognitive testing with Service Users with memory and cognitive problems. Following a diagnostic discussion meeting, you will meet with the Service User and their family to deliver the outcome of the assessment, including the diagnosis. You will work with them to develop a Support Plan looking at treatments, interventions ans supports. You will carry out neuropsychological testing with Service Users as and when clinically indicated.
