The Role Reporting to the Head of Customer Finance, this is a critical, highly visible & commercially focused role responsible for my client’s risk management and account opening processes. Through operating and developing existing credit risk management techniques, the role will help to protect the company’s bottom line profit. Key Responsibilities Management of the Risk Team (4), preventing unnecessary risks or excessive exposures being incurred by ensuring all regulatory, reputational and financial risks are thoroughly reviewed to set appropriate terms through credit limits or pro forma. Management of the Risk Administration Team, which is responsible for all account set up and master data management of both the customer and supplier accounts. Conducting frequent UK wide customer visits (ROI and Europe periodically) to gain an overview of the specific business, build the relationship and when required, manage accounts in arrears. Continuously investigate and review processes with a view to streamlining and improving turnaround times throughout the work stream which encompasses the commercial teams, operations and finance. Participate in cross functional projects, acting as subject matter expert on all risk related issues, contributing thorough in-depth knowledge of the company’s Risk Management and Regulatory processes. Play a key role in reducing risk and maximising cash flow by ensuring accurate allocation of credit limits to customer accounts. Create an environment which delivers required results which comply with all statutory, group audit and SOX requirements, as well as ensuring that the collection of confidential information is coordinated properly and effectively, in respect of: • Credit Limit setting• Accurate and timely credit reviews of customers across all entities• New account approval and prompt account opening• On-going master data maintenance for supplier and customer accounts. Build and maintain working relationships within the company and with external stakeholders, including but not limited to the agencies, manufacturers and our customer base. Carry out monthly ledger reviews, attend fortnightly Credit Committee meetings with the Head of Customer Finance and the Finance Director. To attend Creditors meetings, court hearings, customer visits and Agency KPI’s as required. ? Successful Applicant Qualified with membership of the Institute of Risk Management would be desirable. Qualified Accountant would be desirable. Experience in enterprise and operational risk essential. A proven track record in managing risk whilst also balancing the commercial objectives of a fast paced, high volume business operating on a highly competitive marketplace. Relevant experience in a management role, demonstrating the ability to motivate and manage a team. Demonstrates curiosity, seeks to get under the skin of the operation and its customers and aims to add commercial value as well as regulatory expertise. Tenacious, resilient, able to excel in a pressurised environment. Advanced computer literacy, ERP Systems and Excel skills.
