Due to the continued success and expansion of our business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trade Counter Assistant to join our team at Bideford.
The Role
We currently have an opportunity for a Trade Counter Sales to join our Bideford branch.
Offer a high standard of service to customers who attend the branch, attending to their orders and enquiries. Maintain a good technical knowledge of our product range and endeavour to maximise customer sales at all times.
The Responsibilities and Duties
1. Dealing with orders and enquiries received from customers and potential customers who attend the branch, offering direct assistance.
2. Processing customer telephone orders that come into the branch. Offering a high standard of customer service by greeting customers and ascertaining their needs and wants.
3. Recommending and pointing out items matching customer needs, accurately describing product features and benefits to maximise sales and customer satisfaction.
4. Adopting a pro-active approach to maximise sales to existing customers and explore new sales opportunities.
5. Resolving customer queries, investigating complaints, and resolving these as soon as possible.
6. Maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge of all products sold, attending training if requested by the Company.
7. Observing strict adherence to the Company’s health and safety procedures at all times.
8. Undertake additional or alternative tasks and duties in line with the branch requirements.
The Requirements
* Driving licence
* Plumbing merchants and trade counter sales experience
* DIY or trade counter background (preferred)
* Basic addition and subtraction skills
* Good knowledge of the industry
* Ability to work under minimal supervision
* Able to prioritize workload effectively
* Ability to maintain technical knowledge of product ranges
* Capable of interpreting customers’ needs where appropriate
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Willingness to undertake training to improve capability in role
* Personable and friendly
The Hours
Week 1: Monday - Friday 08:00-17:00
Week 2: Monday - Friday 08:00-17:00, Saturday 08:00-12:00
