Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm, term time only, plus 5 Inset days, some of which are after school sessions

Responsible to: Deputy Headteacher - Pastoral
Key Responsibilities:
* To be a key member of the School’s Pastoral team.
* Setting up and embedding core practices that enable genuine reflection accountability and growth.
* To manage and supervise daily the behaviour and welfare of students in the School’s Pastoral Centre (Blessed Anthony Page Hub)
* To supervise the Hub so that it provides a secure, peaceful, calm environment for students to learn.
* To assist the Pastoral team with pastoral issues and with administration related to the behaviour.
* To assist pupils' achievements outside of the classroom
* Actively promote the safety and welfare of our children and young people
* Working with the pastoral team to identify pupils who need specific intervention; playing a role delivering intervention
* To perform any other reasonable task as required by the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher in charge of Pastoral
Key Tasks
* To support students with Pastoral issues within the school
* To supervise and work with students in the School’s Pastoral centre
* To liaise with School staff regarding student learning in the room.
* To work with TDMCS and other Academies in the Douay network to establish good proactive throughout the network.
* To manage the administration of behaviour records.
* To ensure work packs are available for student completion.
* Co-ordinate and assist with after-school detentions
* To record all behaviours on SIMS and report safeguarding concerns via My concern.
* To prepare and maintain necessary documentation for students as directed by the Deputy Headteacher, including the logging of student behaviour concerns and detentions.
* Tracking, monitoring and sharing referral room data including Class Charts so that we can support pupil effectively
* Use strategies, in liaison with teacher to assist in behaviour management and to support pupils in their learning objectives.
* To make occasional contact with parents/carers to inform them of students’ detentions.
* To participate in whole staff performance management process
* To always adhere to staff code of conduct
* To ensure complete commitment and compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures and promote the welfare of children and young people.
* To undertake break time and lunchtime duties as directed.
* Be aware of confidential issues linked to home/students/teacher/schoolwork, and to keep confidence as appropriate.
Other General Duties:
* To carry out any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post as requested, in the most effective, efficient and economic manner available.
* To attend full staff, departmental and other meetings with staff working groups as requested.
* Participate in training and other learning activities and performance management and development as required.
* To comply with health and safety responsibilities as part of performing the role.
* To have an understanding of the challenges and opportunities that relate to the changing needs of a secondary school.
* Contribute to the overall ethos / work / aims of the school.

Skills required
* GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
* Proficient in Excel/MS/Outlook
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to be calm but professional
* Ability to manage behavioural issues assertively and consistently whilst maintaining calm and professional
