Job summary Hyper Acute Stroke Unit B4 is a 23 bedded unit treating patients who have had a stroke in the hyper acute phase and awaiting rehabilitation. We take patients from all over Greater Manchester with different types of stroke including blood blots or bleeds on the brain. We have a full ward based MDT of nurses, HCA's, CSW's, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medics, dietitians and speech and language therapists. We have a wide range of patients with differing impairments following their stroke, Patients following their time on HASU can either go home with no support required, go home with extra support in place, transferred back to here local hospital or transferred to a rehabilitation ward either within the trust or one out of the trust. On discharge patients can be supported by community rehabilitation teams, district nurses and specialist nurses. Main duties of the job An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Health Care Assistant to join the team. You will be supported within the role with on-going training which includes a Care certificate Program and ward based training related to the different types on conditions and injuries you will come across on the ward. You will need to be able to demonstrate: interpersonal skills and communication skills.
